The China Plate of Trust

A China plate is very delicate and yet it is designed to be used and not just stored away in a cabinet.  It's always great to eat from a China plate and we all know what happens eventually if you use it a great deal. 

With use, China plates get chipped and broken by accident.  If it's not destroyed completely it might even be repaired with some time and effort.  Small chips may not even be noticed.  Large cracks are something that many can learn to accept, especially if they were created accidentally by somone important in ones life. 

Nevertheless, one who continues to give China plates to those who are irresponsible also holds some of the responsibility for the broken plates.  It would be foolish to hand the China plates over to someone who is irresponsible and /or does not respect its value.

We've all broken someone's trust, even if by accident.  It's precious to the other and if we care for them, hopefully we can find the courage to apologize, make amends, rebuild the trust and take steps to help prevent ourselves from breaking ones trust again. 

We all should also have the courage to allow others to rebuild trust and at the same time not be taken advantage of either.  It is wise to be careful of where you place your trust.  Be careful not to hand out China plates or trust in an irresponsible manner.  If you put trust in the wrong hands it may be broken, and yet if you don't take the risk to trust others you will also be disappointed with a life that is less rich.

Life Is Awesome!!! History

I have had the great fortune of enjoying an adventurous life.  Some thought I had a death wish when they found out that I was jumping out of air planes, rock climbing, scuba diving, mountain biking, skiing...

My response has always been that I am out to get the most out of life and connect with as many people as possible on my way. 

Along the way I have enjoyed life's adventure and found some great challenges, and wonderful solutions, too.  The challenges are what make life so incredible after all.  

Challenges give us a chance to grow and re-invent ourselves.   Facing challenges can be hard and sometimes it is easier to avoid them, but that is not where the action of life is really at.  I say face them and find positive ways to deal with hardships.  Even the worst experiences can bring about something good. 

Look for what can be learned in every situation.  The learning itself makes life more rich and satisfying.

Dedication

The idea for the "Life Is Awesome!!!" site came from a fun-filled ride down a mountain with one of my girls.  We had so much fun that she challenged me to make this site.  This site is dedicated to my entire family, friends, colleagues and all of the awesome people in the world.  I am going to do my best to pay it forward and spread the 'life is awesome' philosophy in our world.

 Knowledge vs Action

Knowledge is potential power. It is what you do with it, the application of knowledge in other words, that brings you power. Just knowing something is not very useful, it seems. Having a lot of facts, figures, and ideas stored in your head does not give you much besides the satisfaction of knowing.

The power, and the results that follow, come from actually taking action based on those facts, figures, and ideas. Your power and your results come from putting one foot in front of the other, time and time again, and from the never-ending drive to go forward.

So, if you have been sitting around with a lot of knowledge in your head and are talking virtually no action, it is time for a little change. Set a goal and do something RIGHT NOW to move yourself closer to the goal. It may be a phone call…it may be finding a book…it may be searching the web. Whatever it is, go and do it NOW!

Why is life so awesome?

We all have so many things to be grateful for.  Its so easy to stop noticing the great things on this Earth when things go wrong and yet this is when we need to open our eyes and notice them.

No matter what belief system, we are all here by destiny, luck, chance or act of God.  In any case, we are very lucky that we are able to breathe and exist at all.  

Life was given to us, in some way, and we have a short time here to enjoy it and help make it possible for others to enjoy it, too.

Live each day as if it is your last.  Live life so that everyone you have touched has a positive memory of you.  Your positive impact will go into the future and it will benefit those who are not even born yet.

How to Spread Life Is Awesome!!!

By being a leader of yourself first, you will inspire others.  Work to make your dreams come true and enjoy the journey.  The adventure of a journey is really what makes life interesting.  Wonderful surprises are all around us, we just need to take a bit more time to enjoy them.

Be a positive force of the values that inspire you. Remember those who helped you and keep their inspiration alive with those you connect with too.
